Wijey is responsible for CHILL bar on Velassaru where everybody goes to see the sunset and enjoy a cool drink. A great way to end a day in the sun. Wijey is from Sri Lanka and a wonderfully polite and friendly man. His family is in Sri Lanka, his wife and three daughters age 15, 13 and 9. After 25 yeras in the business, mainly working in colonial Candy, he came to velassaru for the reopening in January 2009. He likes it reaaly well here in the Maldives and says that the staff is amazing which is crucial on such a small island.
Wijey has got a seemingly endless list of Margeritas, a specialty of his. He poured me a delicious drink in a glass big enough to bathe in. Lovely. He's been kind enough to reveal the recipe for the readers of themaldivesbug.com.
