At Alila Villas Hadahaa we got to know Mary, who lived alone, far out at the jetty. Here at Filititheyo we have Frank. We hope. He lived here the last time we stayed at this beautiful island.
Frank is a Napoleon Fish. They can be 150-200 cm long.
There by, Frank is one of the oceans giants. Out in the big blue, beyond the house reef, we used to catch a glimpse of him when we're snorkeling over the coral. Sometimes close, sometimes only as a shadow. A very large shadow.
Many fish can be called timid. Napoleons are the only fish I would say is perceived as shy. It's like they think "Oh no, now they saw that I looked at them - Oops now it can be embarrassing. Now I am blushing as well. No, now it's best that I gently slip away, before I make a fool of myself ".
And in the same - embarrassed way - Frank used to sneak away. Into the blue with a last, blushing glance.
